The Weight is inspired by a pastry stand, and aims at portraying the perfect balance of curves and new perception on timber with a juxtaposition of materials. The tactile feeling of timber is hidden whilst the visuals (the grain) is highlighted. The digital printed acrylic board with random collage of soaps adds visual texture on the grain of American Oak, and the fine hand-painted lines on Myrtle emphasize its grain, especially with the red-tinted resin coating. With the glossy red surface,The Weight is also “red-wine-proof”!
